DSWPS Artists Highlighted on WTVS MetroArts Show

On Sunday, March 3, 2019, four artists from DSWPS were invited to share information about the Society on the television show  MetroArts, on WTVS.   MetroArts  features artists from the Metro Detroit area that have been successful and continue to thrive in their respective disciplines.  The aim to the television program is to bring awareness to up-and-coming artists as well as support those artists who've worked their entire lives in Metro Detroit area by being arts advocates and taking on active role in their communities.

Representing DSWPS were Joan Smykowski, Joya Rush-Keli, Nobuko Yamasaki and Kimberly Santini.  Joan spoke on the history and mission of DSWPS with the interviewer, Asha Patel.   Each artist spoke for exactly 1 1/2 minutes to describe her art, philosophy and influences, with Ms Patel.

The production staff and interviewer were Wayne State University students.  It was a wonderful experience to watch the students, and their advisor Dr. Kimmerly S. Piper-Aiken, produce the show.

The  showing date will be during the summer of 2019.  An exact date has not been established.
