The Global Art Project for Peace (http://www.globalartproject.org/) is an international art exchange promoting peace. Over the years, it has involved 160,000 participants in 95 countries on seven continents. 200+ Regional Coordinators help to organize and spread the word in their part of the world. The Project, founded in Tucson, Arizona, USA in 1993 by the artist Katherine Josten, has been nominated for a UNESCO Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence.
Its mission is to joyously create a culture of peace through art. The Project seeks to express the idea We Are All One.
This year, DSWPS partnered with an artists’ group called “The Fabricators,” in Victoria, Australia. Our exchange of works of art featured woven 8-pointed stars intended to focus attention on the campaign “One Million Stars to End Violence.”
