Detroit-area artist Judi Zielke started oil painting lessons at the age of fifteen. She was inspired by her mother, who also enjoyed art. Together they took acrylic painting studio lessons when she was in her twenties. After pausing to raise two sons and pursue her wonderful career as a nurse, she later joined Anchor Bay Artist Association in 2012. She began taking watercolor lessons and watercolor has remained her primary medium. She is passionate about travel and finds her inspiration from photos she has taken in Greece, Italy, Martha’s Vineyard and her beloved Mackinac Island. Judi is a member of the Grosse Pointe Artist Association. (She’s also a member of the Facebook group Addicted to Mackinac Island.) Twenty of her paintings have been accepted into the Beaumont Hospital Arts for the Spirit program.
